Sol Rising Studio is my dream of combining my body and energy work with creating art and healthy energetic self-care products. I love to work with my hands and to create wellness in the body and soul. Whether I am assisting a client in their quest for relaxation and improved health or designing and creating a piece of jewelry or cooking up a healing salve or massage oil – I am focusing on adding joy and healing energy into the world. That is what is important to me because it is as much a part of helping myself to grow. My journey is one of learning, creation, and encouraging others to find their own health and paths.
For now, most of Sol Rising Studio is still in its beginning stages, the first actions of a concept becoming a reality, but it will grow. I will grow. And I hope that I can help some of you grow.
I truly enjoy my profession – even when I was still in grade school, I was drawn to learning about the human body and health and enjoyed anatomy class. As a massage therapist, I am always seeking new therapeutic techniques and expanding the breadth of my knowledge. I enjoy being able to customize each client’s massage experience so that the experience allows them to leave feeling better and moving easier. I practice several therapeutic modalities such as deep tissue massage, neuromuscular, trigger point release, and do assisted stretching. In addition to my hands-on skills, I also use cupping and crystals and stones. Both aid in promoting the relaxation of your tissues and the cupping provides other additional benefits such as the moving of lymphatic fluids to help promote better drainage.
I have had a strong interest in working with energy since my early teens. I have pursued the study of energy work both on my own and under the tutelage of others. This interest has led to my pursuing further knowledge so that I can incorporate energy healing into my practice. I use polarity balancing in my practice, Reiki, and chakra balancing. Part of my work involves using crystals, sound and music, and stone tools to help move and direct energies. This affinity has also led to my interest in making jewelry and charging it with intention so that my jewelry is not just wearable art but also a tool. When you give one of my charged pieces to someone you are giving them an item whose components have been assembled with thought, intention, and energy.
I also take this approach with my body care products, clothing, artwork – even the food I prepare for myself. When I am creating something to share with the world – I do my best to focus on what I am doing and to put all my intention into creating something that will spread good vibes in the world. This goal has led to a meditative process – Work with intention and dedication, let the negative thoughts pass, do not follow them. Let positive thoughts go but with the intention to examine them later. My focus is on the properties of my ingredients and components and the purpose I am putting them towards.
